We invite you to join our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program at Sassafras Hill Farm!
Here’s how it works: CSA is a mutually beneficial relationship between you and your neighborhood farm. We offer limited “shares” to our community. Each share is a package of our farm’s produce. You have two share sizes to choose from. Once you commit, an up-front payment helps your farm with seasonal costs. In return, you receive a weekly package of seasonal produce at a significant savings from retail.
All CSA produce is grown to a standard stricter than the current USDA standard—100% chemical free, soil grown, and hand-harvested. No synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, hydroponics or GMOs here. By nurturing the soil, we assure you’ll receive nutritious, vibrant, and delicious produce week after week. In joining our CSA, you’ll experience a meaningful and memorable connection to your food, your community, the land it’s grown on, and the people who grow it!
At Sassafras Hill Farm, we strive to reclaim the integrity of the food system through regenerative and sustainable farming practices, as well as personal relationships. It is through our CSA that we create our most cherished relationships. Knowing our community has invested in our farm is humbling, and motivates us to continue to provide high quality food that feeds and nourishes ourselves, and our community as well.
Share Options
Classic Shares
Below you’ll find our two classic CSA shares small or large, accommodating varying family sizes and appetites. Each tier offers Full (20-week) or Bi-weekly (10-week) intervals. We also offer a Beach Season option, especially for those visiting LBI for the summer and wanting to take advantage of our summer harvest. Beach Season runs weekly (12 weeks) or bi-weekly (6 weeks). Members may purchase any combination of shares to meet their individual needs. Delivery is available locally for a fee of $15.00 a week.

The CSA program runs for 20 weeks. The farmer’s basket CSA offers 5-7 items for $31.50 per week. Local delivery available for a $15 weekly fee. There are two options:

Harvest Card—A Seasonal Flex CSA Option
The Harvest Card offers the convenience of one-stop shopping at the farm as well as the various Markets we attend. Similar to a traditional CSA, members support the farm with an upfront payment. The harvest share differs in that members shop for the produce they want instead of receiving a pre-determined CSA share. Members begin the season with a pre-paid credit, allowing one to shop throughout the current harvest season. The value of each produce purchase is simply deducted from ones account.
The Harvest Card offers the flexibility of market-style shopping at a time that suits you for the produce that you choose. In appreciation for your support of our Farm, we offer our gratitude by way of a 10% pre-season discount on your purchase until May 1st 2023.

Our chickens are fully pasture-raised and rotated through our various fields and forest on the farm. Forests are a chicken’s natural habitat. They forage freely, and we supplement with our own freshly grown greens, especially in winter months. We supplement their foraging with an organic, non-soy grain feed grown in North America. We do not have roosters, so our eggs are not fertile.

Bread CSA
Add some delicious bread to your CSA. Choose from a single loaf each week or a three-loaf bundle. The bundle will include one Baguette, a Rustic Country Loaf, along with a weekly Specialty Sourdough Bread of our choosing, no substitutions please.
