Volunteer With Sassafras Hill Farm
Farming is a physically and emotionally demanding job, but has the greatest sense of accomplishment. Whether you're young or old, knowledgeable or inexperienced, we can find a job for you. Come join us and enjoy all that nature has to offer, get your hands dirty and connect with your inner self by working in the worlds oldest profession.
Volunteers help with various tasks such as planting, weeding, composting, harvesting, and more. You can try your hand at many different aspects of the farm - there is always something new happening out here. You don't have to have any previous gardening experience.
Sassafras Hill Farm would not be able to function without our volunteers - we depend on you to keep this farm productive!
We invite you to join us for any of our scheduled volunteer workdays.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

Each time you come to volunteer, sign in and out at the Farm Stand, this is how we track all our volunteer hours.
WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
For your safety and comfort, it is important that you bring certain things when participating in a workday:
Mandatory: Closed-toe shoes or boots
Recommended: Long sleeved shirts, long pants, a hat and sunscreen and water bottle.
If you are under 18, we require our Volunteer Registration Form to be signed by a parent or guardian.
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
Many High School and College/University students attend our workdays to satisfy their community service requirements. If you are planning to do this, please bring whatever paperwork you need signed as we will only sign off on hours the same day they are completed. Also note that lunch does not count for service hours, though we highly encourage you to stay and enjoy it.
